Daisy had finished rehearsing and was taking a shower.

had broken up with her boyfriend the night before and forgot.
前晚和男友分手忘了包裝。
When the package was wrapped, the woman, who was back in the cab...
包裝好后，女士回到的士。
was blocked by a delivery truck.
正好被一輛貨車擋住。
All the while, Daisy was getting dressed.
這時候黛絲正在著衫。
The delivery truck pulled away and the taxi was able to move...
貨車開走后，的士往前開。
while Daisy, the last to be dressed...
黛絲換好衫以后。
waited for one of her friends who had broken a shoelace.
在等一名鞋帶斷掉的朋友。
While the taxi was stopped, waiting for a traffic light...
當的士停在紅燈前面。
Daisy and her friend came out the back of the theater.
黛絲和朋友走出劇院后門。
And if only one thing had happened differently...
只要一個環節不一樣。
if that shoelace hadn't broken...
假如鞋帶沒有斷。
or that delivery truck had moved moments earlier...
或是貨車早一點開走。
or that package had been wrapped and ready...
或是禮物早就包裝好了。
because the girl hadn't broken up with her boyfriend...
因為女店員沒有和男友分手。
or that man had set his alarm and got up five minutes earlier...
或是那位男士沒忘了調好鬧鐘。
or that taxi driver hadn’t stopped for a cup of coffee...
或是司機沒坐下來喝咖啡。
or that woman had remembered her coat and got into an earlier cab...
或是那位女士記得帶大衣，搭上上一輛的士。
Daisy and her friend would have crossed the street...
黛絲就會安全地過馬路。
and the taxi would have driven by
的士也只會跟她擦身而過。
But, life being what it is, a series of intersecting lives and incidents...
