Sometimes we're on a collision course, and we just don't know it.

A woman in Paris was on her way to go shopping.

But she had forgotten her coat, went back to get it.

When she had gotten her coat, the phone had rung.

So she had stopped to answer it and talked for a couple of minutes.

于是她接起來講了幾分鐘。　　

While the woman was on the phone, Daisy was rehearsing...

她在講電話時，黛絲在排練?！?/div>

for a performance at the Paris Opera House.

她要在巴黎歌劇院表演?！　?/div>

And while she was rehearsing, the woman, off the phone now...

就在同時，那位女士掛了電話?！?/div>

had gone outside to get a taxi.

出門叫的士?！　?/div>

Now, a taxi driver had dropped off a fare earlier...

一位司機(jī)剛好載完一名乘客?！?/div>

and had stopped to get a cup of coffee.

坐下來喝杯咖啡?！　?/div>

And all the while, Daisy was.

這段時間黛絲都在排練?！　?/div>

And this cab driver, who dropped off the earlier fare...

這位剛載完一名乘客的司機(jī)。　

and had stopped to get the cup of coffee...

坐下來喝完咖啡以后。

he picked up the lady who was going shopping...

載到錯過一輛。

and had missed getting the earlier cab.

的士的那位女士。

The taxi had to stop for a man crossing the street...

的士停下來等一位男士過街。

who had left for work five minutes later than he normally did...

他比往常遲了五分鐘上班。

because he forgot to set his alarm.

因為他忘了調(diào)鬧鐘。

While that man, late for work, was crossing the street...

這位男士過馬路的時候。
