一.trouble：n. 困難，煩惱，麻煩 v. 使煩惱，麻煩，苦惱，費(fèi)神
【詞義辨析】
bother，disturb，trouble，annoy，irritate，vex
bother: 指使人煩惱而引起的緊張不安或感到不耐煩。
disturb: 較正式用詞，多用被動(dòng)態(tài)。指擾亂，使人不能平靜或妨礙別人工作、思維或正常秩序，是程度較深的煩惱。
trouble: 指給人在行動(dòng)上帶來(lái)不便或在身心上造成痛苦。
annoy: 強(qiáng)調(diào)因被迫忍受令人不快、討厭的事而失去平靜或耐心，多指一時(shí)的打擾或惱怒。
irritate: 語(yǔ)氣比annoy強(qiáng)得多，指激怒，使發(fā)怒，多指一種短時(shí)間的反應(yīng)。
vex: 側(cè)重指因不斷的干擾而引起的煩惱，有時(shí)含激怒的意味。
【例句用法】
1.I'm sorry to have to put you to so much trouble.
很抱歉，給您添了這麼多麻煩。
2.Don't mention my name or you'll get me into trouble.
別提我的名字，免得給我惹麻煩。
3.I find getting up early a great trouble.
我覺(jué)得早起床可不容易。
4.My car's got engine trouble.
我的汽車(chē)發(fā)動(dòng)機(jī)出毛病了。
5.If I say no, the boss will only make trouble for me.

二.before：conj. 在 ... 以前 pref. 在 ... 以前，在..前面 adv. 以前，以往，之前
【詞語(yǔ)用法】
1.Before同ago的比較：
表示“早于現(xiàn)在多少時(shí)間前”，用ago。
He started five minutes ago.
表示“早于過(guò)去某時(shí)多少時(shí)間前”，通常用before 。
He told me he had seen her a few minutes before.
英美人也有用ago，覺(jué)得語(yǔ)氣比較生動(dòng)。
表示“早于將來(lái)某時(shí)多少時(shí)間前”，也用before。
When you call at the shop again this afternoon, you may be told that the book has been sold only a few minutes before.
表示“早于任何某時(shí)（不是現(xiàn)在、過(guò)去或?qū)?lái)的某時(shí)）多少時(shí)間前”，仍用before。
He often forgets what he has heard only a few minutes before.
表示“從現(xiàn)在說(shuō)到以前，不特指若干時(shí)間”時(shí)，用before。
We (have) met them many times before.
在倒數(shù)回以前，表示“一些事情已發(fā)生了多久”時(shí)，可用before。
When I went back to the town that I had left eight years before, everything was different.
2.before與不同介詞搭配時(shí)，句子意思有差異。
All day, as three days before, we planted trees.
同三天前一樣，我們一整天都在種樹(shù)。
All day, as for three days before, we planted trees.
同以前的三天一樣，我們一整天都在種樹(shù)。
3.before既可作副詞，也可作介詞，如在three hours before中為副詞。在before three o'clock中為介詞，但要注意before不能在表示“一段時(shí)間”的詞前作介詞，不能說(shuō)before a month，可說(shuō)a month ago；
4.before long，屬于習(xí)語(yǔ)，表示“不久以后”，同before a long time has passed意思一樣。before very long也指“不久以后”，但比before long時(shí)間短；
5.要注意before的表達(dá)方式，不能說(shuō)before five minutes of the accident，而是five minutes before the accident。其他表達(dá)方式如下：
A few minutes before the accident she called on me.
（不含the/for）
During the few minutes before the accident she had a chat with me.
（含the）
For a few minutes before the accident she had a chat with me.
（含for）
6.before作連接詞，指“……以前”時(shí)，后接到從句中的動(dòng)詞一般不能用將來(lái)時(shí)。如不可以說(shuō)He will arrive before she will start，可以說(shuō)He will arrive before she starts。
若是表示“長(zhǎng)久以后才會(huì)發(fā)生的事”時(shí)，可用將來(lái)時(shí)。
It will not be long before they come back.
他們很快就回來(lái)了。
【錯(cuò)句舉例與錯(cuò)句分析】
錯(cuò)句：It is better to check the oil before to start the car.
糾正：It is better to check the oil before starting the car.
翻譯：在發(fā)動(dòng)車(chē)子前最好檢查下汽油。
分析：before做介詞時(shí)，后動(dòng)詞用動(dòng)名詞形式。
