The internet obsession with Luigi Mangione's fashion choices gained a new chapter on Friday after he appeared for a hearing at the Manhattan Criminal Court in New York City.

Mangione, 26, walked into the courtroom Friday afternoon and sat attentive. He was clean-shaven, wearing a bulletproof vest with a white collar, a dark green knit sweater poking out from under it, khaki pants and brown loafers.

In less than 24 hours since the court appearance, searches for "luigi mangione outfits" spiked by 350 percent on Google. His shoe choice, however, seems to have grabbed most of the attention, with searches for "luigi mangione loafers" spiking by 1,400 percent, and "luigi mangione ankles" surging by 500 percent.
