Jerry: The Chinese team has again made a clean sweep of all the table tennis gold medals!
杰瑞：中國隊又贏走了所有的乒乓球項目金牌！
Xie: Chinese people have long dominated in table tennis. It is actually our national sport.
謝：長期以來中國在乒乓球運動中處于領軍地位，這是我們的國球。
Jerry: Yes. It seems that there is not much competition from other countries! Is it normal that all medals in one event go to a single country?
杰瑞：是的，好像沒什么其他國家能跟中國競爭啊。某一項目中所有獎牌都由一 個國家獲得很常見嗎？
Xie: It may be rare, but Americans have excelled in swimming, gymnastics, and track and field. And other countries have their own specialty.
謝：這種現象可能很少，但是美國人在游泳、體操和田徑項目上也是出盡風頭。其他國家也有自己擅長的領域。
Jerry: Yeah, come to think on that.
杰瑞：想想也是。
Xie: You couldn't imagine how keen we are on table tennis, and how much this nation has invested in this sport financially and emotionally.
謝：你想象不到我們對乒乓球抱著多大的熱情，以及這個國家在這項運動中的財力和情感投入有多少。
Jerry: I guess you are right. I could see that even small kids are swinging paddles in the school yard.
杰瑞：我想你是對的。我知道連小孩子都會在校園里揮舞乒乓球拍。
Xie: So we have every reason to win.
謝：所以我們完全有理由贏。
