Letter by Wang Yi to the Inauguration Ceremony of the Preparatory Office of the International Organization for Mediation
王毅向國際調(diào)解院籌備辦公室成立儀式致信
On behalf of the Chinese government, I would like to express warm congratulations on the inauguration of the preparatory office of the International Organization for Mediation (IOMed).
值此國際調(diào)解院籌備辦公室成立之際，我謹(jǐn)代表中國政府表示熱烈祝賀。
The world is now in a new round of turbulence and transformation. Unilateralism, the Cold War mentality and bullying acts are on the rise. Deficit in peace, security and governance is widening. Standing at a crossroads in history, we need effective solutions to tackle challenges, the ability to build consensus, and the sense of responsibility to lead the trend of the times.
當(dāng)前，世界進(jìn)入新的動蕩變革期。單邊主義、冷戰(zhàn)思維、霸凌行徑盛行，和平赤字、安全赤字、治理赤字加重。站在歷史的十字路口，我們需要有破解難題的良方、凝聚共識的力量和引領(lǐng)時(shí)代的擔(dān)當(dāng)。
President Xi Jinping stressed that peace is the most enduring aspiration of humanity. Disagreements and differences among countries are natural. What we need is dialogue and cooperation based on equality and mutual respect to expand the areas of converging interests and find the maximum common ground. As a responsible major country, China has always acted as a builder of world peace, a defender of the international order and a provider of public goods, and actively explored the pathways to peaceful resolution of international disputes under the new circumstances.
習(xí)近平主席強(qiáng)調(diào)，和平是人類最持久的夙愿。國與國難免存在分歧和矛盾，需要我們在平等和相互尊重基礎(chǔ)上開展對話合作，擴(kuò)大利益匯合點(diǎn)，畫出最大同心圓。作為負(fù)責(zé)任大國，中國始終做世界和平的建設(shè)者、國際秩序的維護(hù)者和公共產(chǎn)品的提供者，積極探索新形勢下國際爭端的和平解決之道。
Mediation is rooted in traditional Chinese culture and widely appreciated by countries in the world. China has worked with relevant countries to jointly initiate the IOMed, in an effort to tackle differences through peaceful means, resolve disputes through dialogue and consultations, and reject zero-sum game with mutual benefit. Such an initiative echoes the international community's strong call for peace, security, fairness, justice and win-win cooperation.
調(diào)解根植于中國傳統(tǒng)文化，也為世界很多國家所推崇。中國與有關(guān)國家共同發(fā)起建立國際調(diào)解院，致力于以和平方式處理分歧，以對話協(xié)商解決爭端，以互利互惠摒棄零和博弈,回應(yīng)國際社會對和平安全、公平正義、合作共贏的強(qiáng)烈訴求。
I hope that with the strong support of the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the preparatory office will complete relevant negotiations at an early date, and make greater contribution to the cause of human peace and to building a community with a shared future for mankind.
希望籌備辦公室在香港特區(qū)政府的大力支持下，早日完成談判，為促進(jìn)人類和平事業(yè)、推動構(gòu)建人類命運(yùn)共同體作出更大貢獻(xiàn)！
