二、翻譯技巧

1.詞性轉換

名詞轉化為動詞

The sites that are nominated for inclusion on the list are chosen for their unique qualities and for being the best examples of our cultural and natural heritage.
那些被提名列入名單的遺跡之所以被選中，是因為它們的獨特性，它們出色地代表了我們文化遺產和自然遺產。

名詞轉化為形容詞

Their photographs also remind us of the fragility of our planet / and the urgency of protecting these sites / in order to ensure that they will continue to enchant future generations.
他們的照片也提醒我們地球是脆弱的，/ 當務之急是保護這些遺產，/ 以確保我們的子孫后代也能為之感嘆。（同時運用拆分的技巧）

2.拆分

Every country possesses sites of local or national interest, /which are a source of national pride.
每個國家都有地方性或全國性的歷史名勝，/ 它們也是國家的驕傲。（定語叢句單獨成句；a source of 采用省略技巧，不需譯出。）

3.語序調整

One of UNESCO’s goals is to raise international awareness of the necessity of safeguarding the richness and diversity of our heritage by using images and, in particular, photography, which provides a visual record of our history.
聯合國教科文組織的目標是利用反映歷史的視覺形式——圖像尤其是圖片的形式使國際社會日益認識到保護我們豐富多彩的遺產是必要的。
