一、順譯法
顧名思義,這種方法是指按所聽到的原句的順序,把整個句子分割成若干個意義單位或信息單位逐一譯出,再用增補,刪減等手段把這些單位自然銜接,形成完整的意思。順譯法能夠減輕記憶負擔,便于及時處理信息,因而是口譯者及考生的首選良策。
例1
It is indeed a pleasure [1]/to stand before the Assembly [2]/ and extend to you, Sir, [3]/in the name of my country,[4]/my most sincere congratulations[5]/ on your election [6]/as president of the present session of the General Assembly [7]./
參考譯文:
的確非常愉快[1],能夠站在大會前面[2],向閣下先生轉達[3],以我國家的名義轉達[4],我最真誠的祝賀[5],祝賀您當選本屆聯合國大會的主席[6]。
例2
“十五”期間[1]/,上海將形成[2]/一批支柱和優勢企業[3]/,形成一批拳頭產品[4]/形成一個創新開發機制[5]/,形成一支優秀企業家隊伍[6]。
參考譯文:
During the period of the Tenth Five-Year Plan [1], Shanghai will set up[2] a number of backbone and flagship enterprises[3], develop a series of knockout products[4], create a mechanism for innovation and development[5], and bring us a troop of outstanding entrepreneurs[6].
二、重組法:
如果兩種語言的表達模式不一致,運用順譯法便會顯得牽強別扭,這時則宜采用重組法。具體說來,就是抓住原語中的信息點,根據目標語的思維方式和表達習慣重新組織和安排信息,譯出原語真正要體現的內容和情感。
例1
Nothing inspired us more [1] as we watched the breathtaking performance of the gymnasts [2]/ than the final jump of Kelly [3]/ that put the American girls on the champion’s stand [4].
參考譯文:
當我們觀看體操運動員驚心動魄的表演時[2]/,最鼓舞我們的莫過于凱利的最后一跳[1]+[3]/,因為這一跳使得美國女孩們登上了冠軍的領獎臺[4]/。
例2
在美麗的金秋時節[1]/,我很高興[2]/,能在古老又充滿現代活力的[3]/的古都西安[4]/,迎來[5]/參加“2001中國西部論壇”的[6]/各位嘉賓[7]。/
參考譯文:
In this beautiful golden fall [1], I am very happy [2] to welcome [5] the distinguished guests [7] to China West Forum 2001 [6] in the ancient capital Xi’an [4], an age-old and mysterious city full of dynamism of the modern era [3].
