我的孩子們……
My boys love to throw things.
我的幾個兒子愛扔東西
And it doesn't matter how they feel
這都不重要, 他們怎么 感覺,
or what kind of flux of emotion they are in.
或者他們 的情緒怎樣波動,
It doesn't matter if they have the flu, a broken leg, or even a fever,
即使是患了流感, 折了 一條腿, 或者是發燒, 這都沒關系,
they will gladly fling fluffy things across the room.
他們仍然會高高興興地 把松軟的東西在屋子里 扔來扔去.
Most often they throw fleecy pillows that I can flip away;no problem.
他們最喜歡扔輕軟的枕 頭, 我也能把它們輕輕 彈開--沒有問題.
And sometimes they throw flexible items that I can catch and throw back.
有時候他們扔一些有彈 性的物品, 我能把它們 抓住并且扔回去.
They really like that.

Other items are so light that they float across the room for a floppy landing at my feet.
其他東西則很輕, 它們會從房間的一頭飄 到另一頭, 軟軟地落在 我腳邊.
But they can't throw things like rocks, toy cars,

arrows or even the flint stones

I gave them when I taught them how to make a fire.

I tried to forbid throwing things.

One time they threw a pile of foam that got all over the house.

Fluids are an absolute no-no! I don't want to get wet!

And when they throw blankets I always make them fold them up when they're done

They hate that!So they don't throw blankets too much any more.
他們最不愿疊毯子啦! 因此他們扔毯子就扔 得少了.
I have simply found that if I am flexible
我發現了一個規律:假 如我這里靈活一點兒,
and let them play just a little bit at an appropriate level,
讓他們適當地玩一玩,
then their moods don't fluctuate between extremes. And it's fun!
那么他們的心情就不會 在極端之間波動.這樣 真有意思!
I love the flicker of play in their eyes,
我喜歡他們玩得兩眼 放光,
their flimsy accusations that their brother did it,
喜歡他們干了壞事誣告 別人卻又不能自圓其說
their constant giggling
喜歡他們總是咯咯直笑
and now they always flock to me to wrestle when we're done.
現在我們玩完之后, 他們總是聚集到我身邊 來摔跤.
It's good to have kids.
有孩子真好.
And if we stay focused, play flourishes and everyone is happy.
如果我們一直集中注意 力, 玩就會活躍氣氛, 結果皆大歡喜.
