The official title of "World Heritage Site"

is given by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) committee to places in the world

that are outstanding examples of cultural or natural history.

There are 29 world haritage sites in China,
中國有29處世界文化遺產，
more than any other country except Italy or Spain.

The Temple and Mansion of Confucius
孔廟和孔府
This site is located in Qufu, Shandong Province,
它位于山東曲阜，
and is a memorial to Confucius, the Chinese great educator.

The site is huge.
這個遺址面積很大。
On the grounds, there are more than 900 halls and rooms.

But the building that people visit most is the Temple of Confucius.
但是人們參觀最多的建筑就是孔廟。
Although it was originally built in 478 B.C., the temple has been rebuilt many times.
孔廟始建于公元前478年，但是它被重建多次。
Besides the temple, visitors can enjoy the grounds outside,

where there are more than 1,000 stone tablets and over 100,000 tombs.

This site is a few hours bus-ride away from the ancient city of Dali in Yunnan Province.
