When I applied, I did a crash course in a computer programme I hadn't used before, because the advert said knowledge of it would be an advantage. That helped me get the job, so it was money well spent. The pay's no better, but with share options and things on top, it was worth changing. I miss the place where I used to work, though, which was inconvenient but had character. You certainly can't say that about these modern office blocks.
我在申請(qǐng)工作的時(shí)候，參加了一個(gè)以前沒學(xué)過的計(jì)算機(jī)程序的速成班。因?yàn)閺V告上說了解相關(guān)知識(shí)將是一個(gè)優(yōu)勢(shì)。這個(gè)培訓(xùn)幫助我得到了這份工作，所以這筆錢花的很值。薪水也沒有多好，但是新公司會(huì)提供期權(quán)和其他東西，所以工作是值得換的。但是我想念我過去工作的地方，那里有些不方便但是有特點(diǎn)。對(duì)于這些現(xiàn)代化的辦公大樓，你當(dāng)然不能這樣說。

The job was getting more and more demanding. And with the commuting on top of it, I had very little time for other things. My new job is based just as far from my home, but the advantage is the direct rail link, which means I spend half as long travelling to work. I'm doing much the same as before, organising a training programme, though now it's for a company in a different sector.
這份工作的要求越來越高了。再加上上下班的時(shí)間，我?guī)缀鯖]有做其他事情的時(shí)間。新公司離家的距離跟之前一樣遠(yuǎn)，但是現(xiàn)在的優(yōu)勢(shì)是有直達(dá)鐵路，這意味著現(xiàn)在可以節(jié)省一半的時(shí)間。現(xiàn)在的工作跟之前類似，工作內(nèi)容就是組織培訓(xùn)項(xiàng)目，但是現(xiàn)在的客戶是不同行業(yè)的一家公司。
