Voice 2: And now it is time for our Spotlight Language Hodgepodge. Today we tell some idioms. Idioms can be words, sentences or expressions. However the individual words have a different meaning from the sentence. A famous idiom is:
聲音2：現在是重點報道“語言大雜燴”版塊的時間。今天我們要講一些習語。習語可以是單詞、句子或短語。然而，單個單詞的意思與句子不同。一個著名的習語是：
Voice 1: "Hold your horses!"
聲音1：“別著急！”
Voice 2: This idiom is not talking about horses. People use this expression to tell people to slow down, to wait, or stop! "Hold your horses!" This expression used to relate to using horses as transport. Or even to holding a horse in battle. "Hold your horses" meant "stop where you are going!"
聲音2：這個習語與馬無關。人們用這個表達讓其他人放慢速度，等待一會兒，或者停下！“別著急！”這個短語過去與將馬用作交通工具有關。甚至是在戰斗中牽著一匹馬。Hold your horses的意思是“停下你的腳步！”
Voice 1: Often unless you know idioms, there is no real way to understand them. You just have to learn them!
聲音1：一般來說，除非你知道習語，否則沒有真正的方法去理解它們。你只要學會就行了！
Voice 5: "Do not be a back seat driver!"
聲音5：“不要指手劃腳！”
Voice 2: This idiom is not talking about cars or driving! It means that a person is trying to take control when they should not be. It is like trying to drive a car from the back seat! Another well known idiom is:
聲音2：這個習語與汽車或開車無關！它的意思是某人試圖在不應由其控制事情時去掌控局面。這就像試圖從后座開車一樣！另一個眾所周知的習語是：
Voice 5: "There is a fat chance of that!"
聲音5：“可能性很?。 ?/div>
Voice 2: It means, there is little chance of something happening. There is a fat chance people will want to learn idioms about horses or back seat driving!
聲音2：這句話的意思是，事情發生的可能性很小。人們想學習與馬或后座駕駛有關的習語的可能性很?。?/div>
