The getting of capital is a part of the process of getting rich;
隨之而來的資本積累自然也就不在話下了。
and it is a part of the result which invariably follows the doing of things in the Certain Way.
它也是特殊的行為方式所產生的必然結果之一。
You may be the poorest man on the continent, and be deeply in debt; you may have neither friends, influence, nor resources;
也許，天下間最悲慘的人非你莫屬：身負巨債，無親無友，沒有任何可利用的資源，更談不上有何影響力，
but if you begin to do things in this way, you must infallibly begin to get rich, for like causes must produce like effects.
然而，一旦你掌握了致富的秘訣，即我說的那種特殊的方式，你就一定能夠成功致富，迅速崛起為眾人艷羨的大富翁。
If you have no capital, you can get capital; if you are in the wrong business, you can get into the right business;
如果沒有資本，你可以獲得資本;如果你入錯行，也可以重返適合自己的行業;
if you are in the wrong location, you can go to the right location;
如果選錯了投資地點，你可以獲得一塊風水寶地，東山再起!
and you can do so by beginning in your present business and in your present location to do things in the Certain Way which causes success.
你就可以在同樣的地方，同樣的工作中，做出不一樣的成就，獲得不一樣的財富!
Chapter Three Is Opportunity Monopolized?
第三章 致富機會都被他人壟斷了？
NO man is kept poor because opportunity has been taken away from him;
沒有誰會一直窮下去，除非是他自己安于現狀，不愿擺脫貧窮，
because other people have monopolized the wealth, and have put a fence around it.
因為這世上沒有誰能把原本屬于他人的機遇沒收，也沒有誰能夠壟斷財富，阻止他人致富。
You may be shut off from engaging in business in certain lines, but there are other channels open to you.
在探尋財富的道路上，有時候，你也許會走進死胡同，但是，請你相信，天無絕人之路。
Probably it would be hard for you to get control of any of the great railroad systems; that field is pretty well monopolized.
也許你很難控制任何一個大型鐵路系統；因為這個領域已經被大規模地壟斷了。
But the electric railway business is still in its infancy, and offers plenty of scope for enterprise;

you can buy a farm of from ten to forty acres, and engage in business as a producer of foodstuffs.

There is great opportunity at this time for men who will live upon small tracts of land and cultivate the same intensively;
對于那些生活在小塊土地上的人來說，這是一個大好的機會;
such men will certainly get rich.
這樣的人肯定會發財的。
You may say that it is impossible for you to get the land, but I am going to prove to you that it is not impossible,

and that you can certainly get a farm if you will go to work in a Certain Way.
事實上，只要你按照某種特殊的方式工作，就一定能夠買下那塊農場。
At different periods the tide of opportunity sets in different directions, according to the needs of the whole,
時代不同，社會的發展程度、工業生產的需求以及人們的生活水平自然不同，
and the particular stage of social evolution which has been reached.
因此，每個時代機遇浪潮的指向也必然有所不同。
At present, in America, it is setting toward agriculture and the allied industries and professions.
在當今美國，農業及其相關產業就是那個被推上風口浪尖的幸運產業。
Today, opportunity is open before the factory worker in his line.
鋼鐵廠的那名工人便有了施展一技之長的機會。
It is open before the business man who supplies the farmer more than be fore the one who supplies the factory worker,
同樣的，在同等條件下，農場供應商自然會得到比工廠供應商更多的獲利機會，
and before the profess ional man who waits upon the farmer more than before the one who serves the working class.
而那些從事農業相關產業的專業工作人員自然也就能得到比從事工業服務業的工作人員更開闊的發展空間。
There is abundance of opportunity for the man who will go with the tide, instead of trying to swim against it.
凡是能夠順應這一時代潮流的人，等待他們的必然是無限的發展機遇以及豐厚的利潤回報:
So the factory workers, either as individuals or as a class, are not deprived of opportunity.
因此，工廠工人，無論是作為個人還是作為一個階級，都沒有被剝奪機會。
The workers are not being "kept down" by their masters;
如此一來，他們就不會再因為有所顧慮而受到老板的“牽制”，
they are not being "ground" by the trusts and combinations of capital.
也不會因為工廠環境及資本等因素而受到“制約”。
