George Weasley made a lunge for Crookshanks but missed; Scabbers streaked through twenty pairs of legs and shot beneath an old chest of drawers.
喬治韋斯萊猛沖過去想抓住克魯克山，但是沒抓著；斑斑在二十雙腿之間飛跑，一下子就沖到一個五斗櫥下邊去了。
Crookshanks skidded to a halt, crouched low on his bandy legs and started making furious swipes beneath the chest of drawers with his front paw.
克魯克山猛然停住，低低地蹲著，開始用前爪狂怒地伸到五斗櫥下面去掏。
Ron and Hermione hurried over; Hermione grabbed Crookshanks around the middle and heaved him away;
羅恩和赫敏連忙跑過去；赫敏抓住克魯克山的腰部，然后費力地舉起它放到了別的地方；
Ron threw himself onto his stomach and, with great difficulty, pulled Scabbers out by the tail.
羅恩趴在地上，費了很大勁才抓住斑斑的尾巴，將它拽了出來。
'Look at him!' he said furiously to Hermione, dangling Scabbers in front of her.
“看看！”他狂怒地對赫敏說，一面拎著斑斑在她面前搖晃，
'He's skin and bone! You keep that cat away from him!'
“它已經皮包骨頭了！你別讓那只貓靠近它！”
'Crookshanks doesn't understand it's wrong!' said Hermione, her voice shaking. 'All cats chase rats, Ron!'
“克魯克山并不知道它做錯了呀！”赫敏說，聲音發抖，“所有的貓都抓耗子，羅恩！”
'There's something funny about that animal!' said Ron, who was trying to persuade a frantically wiggling Scabbers back into his pocket.
“這只畜生真有點怪！”羅恩說，一面努力說服那正在瘋狂掙扎的斑斑回到他的書包里去。
'It heard me say that Scabbers was in my bag!'
“它聽見我說斑斑在我的書包里了！”
'Oh, what rubbish,' said Hermione impatiently.

'Crookshanks could smell him, Ron, how else d'you think —'
“克魯克山會嗅到它的氣息，羅恩，你以為它還會——”
'That cat's got it in for Scabbers!' said Ron, ignoring the people around him, who were starting to giggle.
“那只貓就是盯著斑斑不放！”羅恩說，沒有去理會周圍的人，他們都開始笑起來。
'And Scabbers was here first, and he's ill!'
“斑斑是先在這里的，而且它病了！”
Ron marched through the common room and out of sight up the stairs to the boys' dormitories.
羅恩大步走過公共休息室，上樓到男生宿舍去了。
Ron was still in a bad mood with Hermione next day.

He barely talked to her all through Herbology, even though he, Harry and Hermione were working together on the same Puffapod.
