Chapter 4 loneliness
第四章 孤獨
The next day was rainy and dark.
第二天下雨，天色陰沉沉的。
Rain fell on the roof of the barn and dripped steadily from the eaves.
雨水落在谷倉屋頂上，不停地從屋檐上滴落下來；
Rain fell in the barnyard and ran in crooked courses down into the lane where thistles and pigweed grew.
雨水落到谷倉院子，彎彎曲曲地一道一道流進長著薊草和藜草的小路；
Rain spattered against Mrs. Zuckerman's kitchen windows
雨水噼噼啪啪地打在朱克曼太太的廚房窗上，
and came gushing out of the downspouts.
咕咚咕咚地涌出水管；
Rain fell on the backs of the sheep as they grazed in the meadow.
雨水落在正在草地上吃草的羊背上。
When the sheep tired of standing in the rain,
羊在雨中站累了，
they walked slowly up the lane and into the fold.
就沿著小路慢慢地走回羊圈。
