【語法用法】
reference總是與介詞to連用。
All are admitted, without reference to age or sex.
全面都是允許的，不參考年齡或性別。
商業(yè)復(fù)信的開首常用With reference to your letter，應(yīng)避免在一般通信里出現(xiàn)；
with reference to比in reference to更常見，都主要用在商業(yè)信函和公文里，少用于口語。這里的to是介詞，所以With(In) reference to editing a school paper里，用editing不用edit。
【錯(cuò)句舉例與錯(cuò)句分析】
錯(cuò)句: With reference of this project, we have something to say.
訂正: With reference to this project, we have something to say.
翻譯: 關(guān)于這個(gè)工程，我們有些意見。
分析: with reference to是固定詞組，意為“關(guān)于……”。
【例句用法】
He loaded his pages with references.
他在文章中引用大量參考資料。
You should make a reference to a dictionary.
你應(yīng)該參考字典。
There is no further reference to him in her diary.
她的日記中沒有進(jìn)一步提到他。
二.also:adv.也, 而且, 同樣地
【語法用法】
同either的用法比較：可以說He did not come, and she also did not come.不可說He did not come, and she did not come also.(句中also要改成either）also可用作連接詞，
I study English, also Russian.
這種用法在口語中比較常見，文字上比較少見，可在also前加and。
注意使用also時(shí)，句中的單復(fù)數(shù)形式：
Not only the children but (also) their father is in town.
Not only the man but (also) his children are in town.
前句用is，后句用are。
比較also，as well和too：
三者意思相近，但在句中的位置不一樣，如also通常跟在動(dòng)詞后，處“中間”位置，而as well和too則常用在句尾。
在祈使句和短句中，多用as well和too，而不常用also。
Give me some bread as well, please.
和'I've got a headache.' '! have too.'
also可以用在句首，引導(dǎo)整個(gè)句子。
It's a nice house, but it's very small.
Also, it needs a lot of repairs.
【詞義辨析】
also, too, as well, either, likewise
這些詞均含“也”之意。
also比too正式一些，語氣較重，只用于肯定句，一般緊靠動(dòng)詞。
too語氣較輕，多用于口語，在肯定句中使用，通常位于句末。
as well一般不用否定句，通常放在句末，強(qiáng)調(diào)時(shí)可放在句中。
either用于否定句，放在句末，之前加逗號(hào)。
likewise是書面語用詞。
【例句用法】
We should also take account of difficulties.
我們也應(yīng)該考慮到困難。
London was also called the modern Babylon.
倫敦也被稱為現(xiàn)代巴比倫。
Tom has been to Japan, I have also been there.
湯姆曾去過日本，我也曾去過。
