The Sleeping Beauty
睡美人
Most fairy stories have just one fairy in them. This one has thirteen!
絕大多數(shù)的童話故事中只有一個(gè)仙女。這個(gè)童話里有13個(gè)！
When the thirteenth was not invited to a party, very strange things happened.
而當(dāng)?shù)?3個(gè)仙女沒有被邀請(qǐng)參加派對(duì)時(shí)，非常奇怪的事情發(fā)生了。
The Wicked Fairy
邪惡的仙女
Once upon a time there lived a king and a queen who for many years were very sad because they had no child.
很久很久以前，有個(gè)國(guó)王和王后因?yàn)闆]有孩子而苦惱了許多年。
At last a little daughter came to them, and the king was so happy that he wanted to give a great feast at the castle.
終于他們有了個(gè)小女兒，國(guó)王高興極了，于是想在城堡里舉行一場(chǎng)盛大的宴會(huì)。
Now in his country there were thirteen fairies.
當(dāng)時(shí)在他的國(guó)家里有13個(gè)仙女。
Of course the king wished to invite all of these fairies to the feast, so that each of them might give his dear child a fairy gift.
當(dāng)然，國(guó)王希望能請(qǐng)到所有的仙女參加宴會(huì)，這樣每個(gè)仙女都可以給他的女兒一份禮物。
Never again did Aiken-Drum work for the people of Blednock.How can you invite them all? asked the queen. "We have only twelve golden plates. One of the fairies must stay at home."
你怎么才能請(qǐng)到所有的仙女？王后問(wèn)道，我們只有12只金盤子，必須在有一個(gè)仙女待在家里。
So only twelve fairies were invited to the castle.
于是，只有12個(gè)仙女受邀來(lái)到了城堡。
When they came, they brought magic gifts to the baby, and very wonderful gifts they were.
她們來(lái)的時(shí)候，都給這個(gè)小寶貝帶來(lái)了有魔法的禮物，這些禮物都非常神奇。
One fairy said to the child, "You shall be good." Another said, "You shall be wise."
一個(gè)仙女對(duì)這孩子說(shuō)：你將會(huì)健康。另一個(gè)仙女說(shuō)：你將會(huì)聰明。
A third promised her beauty, and a fourth, riches; and so on, until she had been given everything in the world that one could wish for.
第3個(gè)仙女賦予她美麗，第4個(gè)仙女賦予她富有。就這樣，她收到了世人都想要得到的所有東西。
Eleven of the fairies had named their gifts and the last one was about to speak, when in walked the fairy who had not been invited to the feast.
11個(gè)仙女都說(shuō)出了自己的禮物，就在最后一個(gè)仙女要說(shuō)話的時(shí)候，沒有受邀參加宴會(huì)的仙女走進(jìn)來(lái)了。
She was very angry about it. Without even looking at anyone, she cried in a loud voice,
她非常生氣，看也不看大家，大聲說(shuō)道：
"When the princess is fifteen years old, she shall prick her hand on a spinning wheel and die!"
公主在她15歲的時(shí)候，會(huì)被紡車扎到手面死去！
