Tippy Goes Visiting
提比去游玩
One day Tippy had a happy thought.
一天，提比有了個好玩的想法。
"If boys and girls come to see me, why can't I go to visit them?" she said to herself.
“既然孩子們可以來看我，那為什么我不能去看他們呢？”她自言自語地說道。
So she started off to make a call.
于是，她出發了，準備去回訪一下他們。
Down through the field went Tippy.
提比首先穿過了田野。
Now and then she stopped to stamp her right front foot on a daisy.
她時不時地停下來，用右前腳重重地踩在雛菊上。
Once she stopped and smashed a tin can.
有一次，她停下來踩碎了一個錫罐。
Last of all, she tried to step on the tail of a cow that was lying under a tree.
最后，她試圖踩一只臥在樹下的母牛的尾巴。
"Moo, moo!" said the cow, jumping up and running away.
“哞！哞！”母牛叫著，跳起來跑了。
"She does not want to play with me," thought Tippy, hurrying across the field.
“她不想和我一起玩?！碧岜冗@樣想著，然后匆匆地穿過了田野。
"I'll look over this fence and see what I can find." And she did.
“我來看看柵欄那邊是什么，看我能找到什么。”然后她走到了柵欄前。
In the yard she saw a girl and boy playing in their sand pile.
提比看到院子里一個男孩和女孩正在沙堆上玩耍。
"I'll go in and visit them," said Tippy to herself, and in through the gate she walked.
“我要進去看看他們。”提比自言自語道。于是，她穿過了大門，走了進去。
"Oh, look! look!" cried the girl, jumping up from the sand pile and running toward the house as fast as she could.
“啊，快看！快看！”女孩一邊叫著，一邊從沙堆上跳了起來，飛快地跑向屋子。
"Why, it's a baby elephant coming to play with us," said the boy.
“哎呀，這只小象要來跟我們一起玩呢，”男孩說。
He ran toward the house, too, and stood beside his sister.
他也向屋子跑去，站在自己的妹妹旁邊。
"I'll make myself at home," thought Tippy.
“那我就像在自己家一樣吧?！碧岜认?。
Then what do you think she did? She put her frisky front foot down on some nice sand cakes that the children had made!
你猜她接下來做了什么，她調皮地將前腳踩在了這兩個孩子用沙子做的精致蛋糕上。
"Oh, please don't smash our sand cakes," called the girl.
“噢，不要踩壞我們的沙子蛋糕！”女孩叫道。
But Tippy did not listen. Smash! Smash! She stepped on the tin sand pail.
但提比不聽。啪！啪！她又一腳踩在了裝沙子的錫桶上。
