一.walk:v.步行, 陪...走, 散步, 偷走, 走過 n.步行, 散步, 人行道
【詞義辨析】
walk, stride, stroll, strut, pace, step
這些動詞均有“行走，徒步”之意。
walk最常用詞，中性詞，指除跑、跳之外所有移步的動作。
stride著重步子大而且節(jié)奏有力，流露出匆忙、煩惱、得意等情緒。
stroll多指走走停停，步子緩慢，悠閑自得，漫無目的。
strut指大搖大擺地走，含過分自信或自高自大意味。
pace指踱步，走步。
step多用來指“短步，臺步或急步”。
【例句用法】
She walked away with two first prizes.
她輕而易舉地贏了兩項頭等獎。
Somebody has walked off with my pen.
有人把我的鋼筆偷走了。
二.record:n.唱片, 紀錄, 記載, 經歷, 前科 v.記錄, 顯示, (將聲音等)錄下
【語法用法】
通常來說recording=record，都可以解釋為“錄音，被錄的音或唱片，錄制品”，但是有時候雖然指同一樣東西，著重點不同。recording著重在“音”，record
著重在“唱片或錄制品”。
The author has most usefully provided recordings of the lessons.
She keeps all her old gramophone records in her box.
表示某人錄制的唱片時，用spoken，如a record spoken by Mary。
【錯句舉例與錯句分析】
錯句: Only five or six records of them being seen in the country in February exist.
訂正: Only five or six records of their being see in the country in February exist.
翻譯: 只五或六個它們國家2月狀況的，已被發(fā)現的記錄。
分析: 注意record的用法。

三.exist:v.存在, 生存, 活著
【語法用法】
exist有時有“在逆境中生活，僅能活命”的意思。
Some people in some poor countries receive wages that allow them to exist but not to live.
有些貧困國家的人民的收入只能勉強維持生計。
exist與subsist區(qū)別：subsist指“繼續(xù)存在”，而exist指“存在”。
【錯句舉例與錯句分析】
錯句: Nobody can actually know if God is existing.
訂正: Nobody can actually know if God exists.
翻譯: 沒有人知道上帝是否真實存在。
分析: exist指“存在”不用進行時態(tài)表達。
【例句用法】
Man cannot exist without air.
沒有空氣人就不能生存。
The Roman Empire existed for several centuries.
羅馬帝國存在了幾百年。
