一.talk：v. 交談，商討，演講，闡述，勸服 n. 談話，會談，討論，講話，空談
【詞義辨析】
1.address，speech，lecture，oration，report，talk
address: 正式用詞，指在莊嚴隆重的場合作精心準備的演講或正式演說。
speech: 普通用詞，指一般的發(fā)言或講話，可以是事先準備的，也可以是即席的。
lecture: 側重帶學術性的演講。
oration: 常指在特殊場合，辭藻華麗，形式莊重，旨在激發(fā)聽眾感情的正式演說。
report: 一般是指下級給上級或負責人給委托機關的書面或口頭報告。
talk: 常用詞，強調非正式講話，講話方式一般較為自由。
2.conversation，dialogue，talk，chat
conversation: 一般用詞，指兩個或更多人互相交換意見的交談。
dialogue: 指“對話”。
talk: 普通用詞，可與conversation換用，指正式交談。
chat: 指熟人之間非常隨便的交談，強調談話的親密和非正式性。
3.say，speak，state，talk，tell，utter
say: 最普通常用詞，指用語言表達思想，著重所說的內容。
speak: 側重于說話動作的本身，著重說話的能力而不在內容，比如能說某種語言。
state: 較正式用詞，通常指用明確的語言或文字著重地敘述事實，既強調內容又注重語氣。
talk: 普通用詞，側重指與人交談時的連續(xù)說話，可指單方面較長談話，和speak一樣，著重說活動作而不側重內容。
tell: 指告訴或講述。
utter: 著重說話的行為，常指聲音的使用，突出用噪子發(fā)聲。
【例句用法】
1.He talks big but doesn't actually do anything.
他光吹牛，什麼實際的事都不干。
2.In politics there is too much talk and not enough action.
在政治方面向來是說得多做得少。
3.Talking of Jim, have you heard that he's getting married?
說到吉姆，你聽說他要結婚了嗎？
4.Don't talk back to your mother.
不要和你母親頂嘴。
5.He talked at you at the meeting.
他在會上不點名地批評你。
二.through：adv. 通過，徑直，自始至終，(電話)接通，完全 prep. 穿過，憑借，一直到 adj. 直達的，直通的，貫穿的，完成的，結束的
【詞語用法】
在美國，through意為“完了的”，through with意為“關于……完了的”。get through with the examination意為“考試完畢”，但get through the examination（沒有with）在英美都意為“考試及格”；
through可作形容詞。
He is through with asking questions.
他把要問的問題都已問完。
若將句中的with省去，through仍為形容詞，但asking則變成了現(xiàn)在分詞。
在美國，from Monday through Friday意為“從周一到周五，包括周五”，from astronomy through zoology意為“從天文學到動物學的各種科學”；
across和through的區(qū)別同on和in類似，across指從表面穿過，而through則指從三維空間中間穿過。
We walked across the ice.
We were on the ice.
I walked through the wood.
I was in the wood.
【錯句舉例與錯句分析】
錯句： This has been seen in the endless stream of bills through parliament.
糾正： This has been seen in the endless stream of bills passing through parliament.
翻譯：這可從議會中通過的的層出不窮的法案中看出。
分析：through前應搭配動詞使用。

1.Don't tell me how it ends I haven't read all the way through yet.
先別告訴我書的結尾－－我還沒看完呢。
2.Ask to be put through to me personally.
你告訴接電話的人，要求和我本人通電話
3.How soon will you be through?
