【詞語用法】
around和round相似，均作副詞和介詞用。美國人習慣用around，如下列各例句：
He turned around.Like the moon, the artificial satellites move around the earth.
I went around to the post-office.
Around 800 men came.
英國人習慣用round，如上面的前三個例句，他們習慣把around改成round，而最后一句，則改成about。
around有一些固定的搭配，如around and about，around and above，all around等。而有時不可用around，如winter comes around，all the year around，win one around等；
round與around的比較：
round常指在圈內或者曲線上的移動或定位。
She walked round the car and looked at the wheels.
英國人還常用round作“去到一個地方的每個部分”或“分東西給組里的每個人”。
We walked round the old part of the town.
Could you pass the cups round, please?
而around則指不明確的，模糊的移動或定位。
The children were running around/about everywhere.
【錯句舉例與錯句分析】
錯句：I prefer being around people.
糾正：I prefer having people around me.
翻譯：我更偏向有人圍繞在我的身邊。
分析：這里顛倒了不可倒置的習語。
【詞義辨析】
about, around, round,
about: 既可表靜態，也可表動態。
around: 主要用于美國，靜態或動態均可。
round: 主要用于英國，多半指動態。
almost, nearly, about, approximately, around, roughly,
almost: 指在程度上相差很小，差不多。
nearly: 與almost含義基本相同，側重指數量、時間或空間上的接近。
about: 常可分almost和nearly換用，但about用于表示時間、數量的“大約”時，實際數量可能多也可能少。
approximately: 多用于書面語，指精確度接近某個標準以致誤差可忽略不計。
around: 多用于非正式場合，常見于美國英語。
roughly: 指按粗略估計，常代替about。
【例句用法】
1.I'll send someone to show you around.
我派人帶你到周圍轉轉。
2.It'll be finished around Christmas.
這事將在圣誕節前後完成。
3.He turned around as he heard a noise behind him.
他聽到身后有響聲，便轉過身來。
4.I will visit you around Christmas.
我將在圣誕節前后去拜訪你。
5.He looked around but could see nobody.
他四處望了一下，看不到什么人。
6.My sister is around your age.
我妹妹和你年齡相仿。
二.business：n. 商業，事務，生意
【詞語用法】
business由busy和ness組合而成，等同于busy的抽象名詞；
in business指“在經商營業”，屬于形容詞短語或狀語短語范疇；on business指“因事或因公，出差”，屬于狀語短語。
She engaged in business.
She wants to see you on business.
go to business意思是“到辦事處去，上班”，go into business意思是“從事商業”。
She go to business by bike.
He went into business at the age of 18.
表示“不要管別人的閑事”可說“Mind your own business”。
【詞義辨析】
affair, business, matter, concern, thing,
affair: 含義較廣，側重指已發生或必須去做的任何事情或事務。復數形式多指重大或較復雜的事務。
business: 通常指較重要或較難而又必須承擔的事情，也可指商事。
matter: 普通用詞，著重指一件考慮中的或需要處理的事。
concern: 往往強調與個人或團體利害有直接或重大關系的事。
thing: 用作“事情”解時，詞義較籠統、含糊，多用于指不很具體的事。
business, commerce, trade, bargain, deal,
business: 指包括售貨、購貨、換貨在內的綜合商業活動，方式可以是批發或零售。
commerce: 多指大規模的買賣或易貨關系。
trade: 普通用詞，含義廣。既可指某種具體的商業又可指廣泛的貿易。
bargain: 多指買賣雙方通過談判、協商就商品質量、數量、價格等項達成協議所成的生意。
deal: 口語用詞，指買賣雙方經過交涉達成協議成交。
