230.銷售季節
Shopping was always the craziest when all of the items in stores were on sale! Everyone would suddenly have the urge to shop and use up all of their extra cash to clear off the shelves! The only people who were able to use their heads during this season were typically men—they just bought what they had always wanted. The women bought everything they could get their hands on!
所有商品大減價的時候總是搶購最瘋狂的時候！大家突然有了購物的沖動，都想把多余的現金用光、把貨架掏空！這個季節唯一能夠保持頭腦清醒的一般都是男人——他們只買他們一直想買的東西。而女人則逮住什么買什么！
That's what they were used to doing!
她們就是習慣這樣！
It was great business for the stores. They got to make money even while making room for the most up-and-coming styles that would themselves soon sell out! Sales allowed them to stay up to date! They also put signs everywhere advertising more sales. This was so that as people went up and down on the escalators they would see more things that they "thought" they needed to buy.
商店這時生意可是好得很。他們賺得盆滿缽滿，同時還為最搶手的式樣留有余地，因為這些東西自己很快就會銷售一空！大減價使它們一直是新式產品！他們還到處打廣告推銷更多的減價商品。他們這樣做是為了讓人們在電梯上上上下下的時候能夠看到更多他們“以為”需要購買的東西。
The upper level seminars on controlling your spending habits or managing money were always ignored during this season!
在這個季節里，關于控制你的花錢習慣或者管理錢財的高級研討課總是沒人感興趣！
But that was okay! Sale season also made up for the ups and downs of the rest of the year! If sales staff opinions were up in the air about whether a certain item would sell, they would just put it to the side until sale season when they would be up to their ears in people wanting to buy any and everything!
可是這沒有關系！銷售季節同時也彌補了一年當中其他時候的起起落落！如果銷售人員對某件商品是否走俏拿不定主意，他們就會把這件商品收起來直到銷售旺季，因為這時他們會非常忙，顧客們什么東西都想買！
The whole thing was sort of upside down, but everyone knew that and no one cared, especially the wives! If they spent too much money, then it was up to their husbands to work harder to pay it off! And the husbands in turn didn't help. They just urged their wives to do whatever they wanted to make them happy.
整件事情有點混亂不堪，可是大家都了解，誰都不在乎，尤其是那些太太們！如果她們花錢太多，那么就得靠丈夫們更加拼命工作把賬還清！而丈夫們反過來又幫不了什么忙。為了讓她們高興，他們只是勸太太們想干什么就干什么。
Just leave them alone so that they could watch football!
就讓她們折騰吧，這樣他們就可以安安心心看足球啦！
