No one had to twist Samantha's tail to know that she had to buy a new typewriter ribbon, and fast! It was luckily still under warranty. She hoped that she would be able to get a new one before her boss noticed. He was under a lot of pressure these days, and she was under orders to disturb him under no circumstances.
知道她得趕快買一個新打字機色帶，誰都不必觸怒薩曼瑟！幸運的是它仍然在保修期。她希望她能在老板發現之前換個新的。最近他一直壓力很大，而她接到過命令無論如何都不能打擾他。
She quietly left her desk and went to the store. It was closed until further notice!
她悄悄地離開辦公桌去了商店。可是商店關門了，何時開門得等另行通知！
When a person walking by saw her just standing there staring, he asked if he could help. Samantha just replied with some incoherent ums and aahs. The man thought that she must be under the weather and walked away!
一個過路人看見她站在那兒發呆，就問是否可以幫忙。薩曼瑟只是支支吾吾、前言不搭后語地答了幾句。那人認為她一定是不舒服，所以便走開了！
No one else was up and about. Now what was Samantha supposed to do?
后來再也沒有人過來走動。現在薩曼瑟該怎么辦呢？
Walking back to the office she thought that this was typical of her, getting into messes that she couldn't solve. If, for example, she didn't make so many typing errors and mistakes she wouldn't have to run through a new typewriter ribbon so fast!
回到辦公室，她想這種事情對她來說太典型了——陷入困境，無法自救。比如說，如果她沒有出那么多打字錯誤，她就不會那么快把一個新色帶用完了！
Then she remembered what she could do; there was an office supply room! It was, however, unfortunate that the key was under the control of Mr. Krumpet! And he would make people do anything to get them under his thumb!
這時她想到了一個辦法：不是有一個辦公用品供應處嘛！可不幸的是鑰匙在克倫佩特手里。為了讓人受制于他，他可是什么事都會讓你干的！
But Mr. Krumpet was up against a nervous and stressed out woman today! She would not let him push her around, she was to get that key, get that ribbon and get back to her desk before her boss knew it!
可是克倫佩特先生今天面對的是一個緊張兮兮、壓力重重的女人！她決不會聽命于他，她要拿到鑰匙、拿到色帶，在老板知道之前回到她的座位！
Mr. Krumpet didn't know what hit him! But Samantha got everything she wanted without him even having a chance of making her pay or owe him a favor!
克倫佩特先生不知道自己吃錯了什么藥！薩曼瑟想要什么就拿到了什么，他連讓她還情或者欠情的機會也沒撈著！
