When Jack finally took some time off from running he was tired out, to say the least! He had been running now for six weeks to be exact! And as he ran to and fro he had barely escaped the police several times.
I should never have tied her up! He thought.
Having no more friends to his name, Jack now had no one to ask for help. During the first weeks of running he had tried to talk to his wife again, but they just exchanged tit for tat and she became angrier than ever! He couldn't go back!
Jack knew, to some extent, that this wouldn't end well. But he had to try.

Tired of running, Jack finally found what he thought was the perfect small town in the middle of nowhere to hide out in. He began working at the town garage where he tinkered with broken automobiles. Jack finally thought that he had tipped the balance in his favor. Now he would be able to live in peace and some day start over again. To the contrary, the townsfolk kept up more with the times than Jack bad imagined. One of them soon recognized Jack from the television and called the police.
The police soon arrived and Jack fought to the death with them.
That is to date 32 criminals now who had thought that they could hide out in that small town. Those townsfolk were becoming quite the experts at recognizing people hiding in their town because they thought they would be safe!
