221.頑童妹妹
As Daniel and Carrie ran to the mailbox, Daniel threatened to trip Carrie. But she didn't think twice about it, she just ran faster to get to the mailbox first! She thrived on the challenge of beating her brother! And as Daniel was thinking over whether to really trip her or not, Carrie won and got to the mailbox first!
丹尼爾和卡麗跑向信箱的時候，丹尼爾威脅卡麗說要將她絆倒。可她沒有猶豫，反而跑得更快，她想首先跑到！因為下了戰書要擊敗哥哥，她的勁頭可大啦！就在丹尼爾仔細考慮是否真的要絆她一跤的時候，卡麗贏了，她首先跑到了信箱！
Ha, ha! You threatened me with violence and I still won! Carrie sang in a teasing way. Then she began to look through the mail. As she looked through this and that she took out the pieces of junk mail to throw away!
“哈哈！你用暴力威脅我，可我還是贏啦！”卡麗取笑說。然后她開始翻看信件。看過各種信件之后，她把那些垃圾郵件拿出來準備扔掉！
Daniel stood and watched.
丹尼爾站在那里看著她。
Then, when Carrie was finished with the mail, through and through, she quickly threw some dust into Daniel's eyes and started to run home screaming,"Mommy, Daniel's trying to trip me!!!"
等卡麗徹底處理完信件，她很快又來迷惑丹尼爾，開始邊朝家里跑邊大聲喊道：“媽咪，丹尼爾想絆倒我！！！”
Daniel was really thirsting for making her fall hard, so he charged after her. Then Mom came out and Carrie started crying, as if Daniel had done something. "Can you throw some light on what happened, Daniel?" his mom asked. "Nothing! She's just lying and trying to get me in trouble!"
丹尼爾真的渴望使她摔一跤狠的，所以他向她猛沖過去。就在這時媽媽出來了，卡麗開始哭起來，好像丹尼爾真的做了什么。“你能解釋一下發生了什么事嗎，丹尼爾？”媽媽問。“什么也沒發生！她在撒謊。想陷害我！”
Mom didn't know what to think of the mess, but she knew that Carrie was lying a lot lately. So she believed Daniel and sent Carrie to her room! As Carrie was going to her room she threw the mail out of her hand. That made mom even angrier and Carrie was grounded for a whole hour!
媽媽不知道怎樣看待這種糟糕的局面，但她知道卡麗最近老撒謊。因此她相信了丹尼爾的話，要卡麗回自己的房間！卡麗回房間的時候把手里的信件扔掉了。這使媽媽更加生氣，卡麗被關了整整一個小時的禁閉！
Think of this as a time for you to have some peace and quiet for an hour. Daniel's mom said. "This is my treat!"
“就當你安安靜靜地休息了一小時丹尼爾的媽媽說。“我請客！”
He was so glad his mother knew how naughty Carrie could be!
他真高興媽媽知道卡麗有多調皮！
