100.孤注一擲
This was the one! Walter was sure of it!
就是這次了！沃爾特認為錯不了！
This was the one he had been going after all of his life; the gamble that he was destined to win!
這是他一生都在追求的機會，他注定要贏的賭局！
Walter bet everything on the horse named Destiny's Child.
他把一切都賭在一匹名為“命運之子”的馬上。
If he lost he would go broke. But if he won, his wealth would go beyond anything he had imagined.
一旦賭輸，他就會破產。但如果賭贏了，他的財富就會超越他所有的想像。
And he would never gamble again!
他以后再也不賭了！
When he put all of his money down, he got cold all over!
當他把所有的錢押下去的時候，他全身戰粟起來！
It was certainly going against the grain to bet at such terrible odds.
這樣狂賭肯定是違反意愿的。
But Walter had an itch on his ear!
但沃爾特渴望聽到好消息！
And that was always a sign to go ahead with whatever he was planning. The itch promised victory!
這種渴望總是預示著他要開始執行他的計劃了。有渴望就有可能取得勝利！
After going away from the betting booth, Walter decided to go by the winners' circle.
離開下注站之后，沃爾特決定從受獎區旁邊走過。
He nodded to his favorite waitress.
他朝他最喜歡的女招待點了點頭。
Going ahead like nothing was unusual, he told her, but to be ready for a change.
就當沒發生什么事，該干啥干啥，他對她說，但要準備接受一點兒變化。
She smiled, deciding to go along with Walter just as she did with every obsessive gambler.
她笑了，決定與沃爾特合作，就像她對每一個著迷的賭徒那樣。
They never won and they would always go back on any promise they made when they thought they were hot!
他們只輸不贏，覺得會時來運轉就封官許愿，但違背諾言是他們的家常便飯！
She got back to work without a second thought.
她沒有細想就回去工作了。
Then the race began. Walter didn't watch!
接著比賽開始了。沃爾特居然沒有看！
He had gone all out, what would it matter to watch nervously if he had been right?
他已經盡了全力，如果下注下得對，緊張兮兮地看比賽又有什么用？
But then he heard the race was going bad, some horse was injured. Was it Destiny's Child?
但后來他聽說比賽出了問題，有匹馬受傷了。是“命運之子”嗎？
As Walter went around to look out on the track he was just in time to see Destiny's Child win!
就在沃爾特四處走動朝跑道張望的時候，他正好看到“命運之子”大獲全勝！
He had won! The favored horse was the injured one!
他贏了。受傷的是那匹大家都看好的馬！
When he turned to go back to the counter to pick up his winnings, Walter smiled!
沃爾特轉身回到柜臺去拿他贏得的錢時，他笑得可開心啦！
It was time to show that waitress what winning felt like!
是讓那位女招待知道成功是一種什么樣的滋味的時候啦！
