70.Buying a House
70.買房
As the sale was drawing to a close, Mark looked around at his dream house and drank to his success!
The owner had driven a hard bargain, but Mark had outbid everyone and the house was his.
Now if only his wife would be happy about it!
Hopefully she wouldn't drive him up the wall with how much he had spent.
Whatever, Mark would find the right words to drive home what a good deal this purchase was.
The house was still full of people.
They were dressed up in fancy clothes, also in awe of the home, and somewhat dejected that they had not been able to buy it themselves.
One of them drew their attention to Mark as he walked by and they all raised their glasses to him.
Cheers! They all said.
Drink up, Mark thought, I'd like to drive you all out now, but the home is not mine yet!
When everyone finally started to drift away Mark went into a back room with the owner to draw up the papers for the sale.
There was a slight change to the sale, however, but when Mark figured out what the current owners were driving at he was still okay.
They just wanted to finish out the month before they vacated the premises.
Mark drew the papers to himself, shook their hands and took his leave.
He could wait one month to live in the house he had always dreamed of.
Now to find the right words to break the news to his wife!
