第三十課 該娶妻啦！
Bill finally started thinking about marriage when he turned 36.
滿36歲時比爾終于開始想婚姻的事了。
And while he knew that he had fallen behind the trend for average marrying age, he hoped mar-riage would be worth the wait.
盡管他知道他已經落后于時下流行的結婚年齡，但他希望婚姻值得等待。
It's not that he had planned on waiting ; he had just always been too tied up at work and truested with too many responsibilities to have a social life.
他的等待并不是因為他計劃如此，而是因為他一直工作纏身，被委以重任，應酬太多。
If it were up to his boss, he would never have a moment to himself.
如果由他的老板來決定,他永遠不會有屬于自己的時間。
But now the boss was gone and the company was through with Bill, he also realized that he was tired of living for his career.
可是現在老板不在了，公司也與他沒了關系，比爾也意識到他已經厭倦了只有事業的生活，
Now it was time to be tied to a living person with his wife.
現在是把他的生活和一個人聯系起來的時候了。
When his first dates failed, however, Bill began to think that he was to blame.
但是，當頭幾次約會失敗之后，比爾開始認為應該怪他自己。
Maybe he was too picky.
也許是他太挑剔了。
Or maybe he was too accustomed to doing things in his own way.
或者也許是他太習慣于用自己的方式行事。
He certainly wasn't yellow or afraid of women!
他當然不是膽小或者怕女人。
He decided to take another shot at it by going to a club.
他決定通過俱樂部的方式再試一下。
It took him a while to get used to the loud music and the late hours, but Bill figured that he might as well be up.
他花了一段時間才習慣了嘈雜的音樂和晚出晚歸，但比爾認為還是應該熬熬夜。
Bill didn't realize, however, that all the women he was dacing with were prostitutes.
但是，比爾不知道所有跟他跳舞的女人都是妓女。
When this became clear he left in frustration.

When the taxi he was riding in got tied up in traffic, Bill decided to walk the rest of the way home.

Stepping out of his car he bumoed into a beautiful woman.
從車里走出來的時候，他碰到一個漂亮的女人。
They exchanged glances and apologies, but then Bill just walked away.
他們互相看了一眼并互相道了歉。
He never realized that he had just met the only woman who would ever have been worthy of him.
他從來都沒有意識到他剛剛遇到的是他一生中唯一值得他愛的女人。
