Before coming to Macao, China Daily reporter Peng Yixuan read a series of sociological books about the region. Following clues from the books, she explored breakfast shops, ice cream parlors, and electronics stores in the old town, discovering evidence of Macao's deep connection with the motherland.
來澳門之前,記者小彭(視頻號:小彭彭譯萱)讀了幾本澳門口述歷史的書。她按圖索驥,在老城區的早餐店、雪糕鋪子、電器商店里,看到澳門與祖國聯結的鮮明見證。
According to Mr Kong, the owner of Lai Kei Sorvetes, his grandfather once donated supplies to the mainland during wartime. In gratitude, the mainland sent back gifts, including a jar of shredded coconut. His grandfather used it to create one of the shop's signature products: coconut ice cream.
店主鄺先生說,他的爺爺曾在戰亂期間給內地捐助過物資,內地為表感謝回贈了一些禮品,其中就有一瓶椰絲,爺爺便用椰絲制作了這家店的招牌產品之一——椰子雪糕。
Lei Fong Mercearia, open since the 1980s, is now a time capsule of Macao's history. Mr Liu, the owner, proudly preserves treasures from Macao's return to the motherland, including newspapers, banners, and street flags from that day.
從80年代開到今天的利豐便利店,如今已經是一家承載了澳門記憶的舊物商店。劉華光收藏著澳門回歸祖國當天的號外、錦旗,甚至還有回歸當天街上懸掛的彩旗。
Reflecting on China's progress, Liu says, "I never imagined our country could become so strong."
回顧中國的進步,劉華光感慨道:“我根本想都不敢想,我們的國家幾年的時間,現在這么強大,要什么有什么。”
