"It has happened," she told the silent staffroom. "A student has been taken by the monster. Right into the Chamber itself."
“又出事了，”她對著房間里沉默不語的老師們說，“一個學生被怪獸擄走了。直接帶進了密室。”
Professor Flitwick let out a squeal. Professor Sprout clapped her hands over her mouth. Snape gripped the back of a chair very hard and said, "How can you be sure?"
弗立維教授發出一聲尖叫。斯普勞特教授猛地用雙手捂住嘴巴。斯內普緊緊地抓住一把椅子的椅背，問道：“你怎么能肯定？”
"The Heir of Slytherin," said Professor McGonagall, who was very white, "left another message. Right underneath the first one. 'Her skeleton will lie in the Chamber forever.' "
“斯萊特林的繼承人，”臉色十分蒼白的麥格教授說，“又留下了一行字。就在上次那段文字的下面，寫著：她的尸骨將永遠留在密室?！?/div>
Professor Flitwick burst into tears.
弗立維教授忍不住哭了出來。
"Who is it?" said Madam Hooch, who had sunk, weak-kneed, into a chair. "Which student?"
“是誰？”霍琦夫人雙膝一軟，癱坐在一把椅子里?！笆悄膫€學生？”
"Ginny Weasley," said Professor McGonagall.
“金妮韋斯萊。”麥格教授說。
Harry felt Ron slide silently down onto the wardrobe floor beside him.
哈利感到羅恩在他身邊無聲地跌倒在衣柜的地板上。
"We shall have to send all the students home tomorrow," said Professor McGonagall. "This is the end of Hogwarts. Dumbledore always said... "
“我們必須明天就把所有的學生都打發回家，”麥格教授說，“霍格沃茨到此為止了。鄧布利多以前常說……”
The staffroom door banged open again. For one wild moment, Harry was sure it would be Dumbledore. But it was Lockhart, and he was beaming.
教工休息室的門又一次被重重撞開了。哈利一時突發奇想，以為肯定是鄧布利多回來了。結果卻是洛哈特，臉上居然還笑嘻嘻的。
"So sorry — dozed off — what have I missed?"
“對不起——打了個盹兒——我錯過了什么？”
He didn't seem to notice that the other teachers were looking at him with something remarkably like hatred. Snape stepped forward.
他似乎沒有注意到，其他老師都以一種可以說是仇恨的目光盯著他。斯內普向前跨了一步。
