誤譯：

對我而言，過去黑白分明，而未來卻總是燦爛繽紛。

正譯：

在我看來，過去(灰蒙蒙的)平淡無奇，未來才總是燦爛繽紛的。

翻譯加油站：

誤譯最后一部分將colorful譯為“燦爛繽紛”是一種很好的發(fā)揮，但是前面卻沒有將black and white的意思譯對。

black and white 原本指黑色和白色，如：

black-and-white television (黑白電視)

black-and-white photo (黑白照片)

a black and white dog (毛色黑白相間的狗)

in black and white (“白紙黑字”的印刷品)

英語里有一則謎語：What is in black and white and red all over?答案是newspaper。這里的in white是指“黑字印在白紙上”，而謎語中的red與read的過去分詞發(fā)音相同，is read all over是“(被人們)從頭到尾閱讀”。

in black and white還可以由“書面文件”轉(zhuǎn)義為“憑據(jù)”，如：

black and white也有類似于漢語“黑白分明”的意思，指對比強烈，但是誤譯前面部分根據(jù)這一解釋譯出的“黑白分明”與后面的“燦爛繽紛”無法構(gòu)成對比，可見不能這樣解釋。其實，原句中的black and white的意思可以從黑白電影、黑白電視等推導出來：看黑白電影總沒有看彩色電影有意思，所以用以形容生活，black and white應該是“簡單”或“單調(diào)無味”的意思。
