美國(guó)小學(xué)槍擊案奧巴馬哽咽落淚講話
THE PRESIDENT: This afternoon, I spoke with Governor Malloy and FBI Director Mueller. I offered Governor Malloy my condolences on behalf of the nation, and made it clear he will have every single resource that he needs to investigate this heinous crime, care for the victims, counsel their families.
總統(tǒng)奧巴馬：今天下午，我已同康涅狄格州州長(zhǎng)丹·馬洛伊和聯(lián)邦調(diào)查局局長(zhǎng)羅伯特·米勒通話。我代表全國(guó)向州長(zhǎng)丹·馬洛伊表示吊慰，并明確表示他將獲得他所需要的一切必要資源來(lái)調(diào)查這一惡劣的罪行，照料受害者，慰問受害者家人。
We’ve endured too many of these tragedies in the past few years. And each time I learn the news I react not as a President, but as anybody else would -- as a parent. And that was especially true today. I know there’s not a parent in America who doesn’t feel the same overwhelming grief that I do.

The majority of those who died today were children -- beautiful little kids between the ages of 5 and 10 years old. They had their entire lives ahead of them -- birthdays, graduations, weddings, kids of their own. Among the fallen were also teachers -- men and women who devoted their lives to helping our children fulfill their dreams.
今天不幸遇難的大多是兒童，5到10歲漂亮的小孩，未來(lái)之路原本有著完整的人生：生日、畢業(yè)、結(jié)婚、生兒育女。遇難者中還有老師，他們獻(xiàn)出了自己的生命營(yíng)救我們的孩子，讓他們的夢(mèng)想得以實(shí)現(xiàn)。
So our hearts are broken today -- for the parents and grandparents, sisters and brothers of these little children, and for the families of the adults who were lost. Our hearts are broken for the parents of the survivors as well, for as blessed as they are to have their children home tonight, they know that their children’s innocence has been torn away from them too early, and there are no words that will ease their pain.
今天我們的心破碎了，為這些遇難孩子的父母、祖父母、兄弟姊妹以及成年遇難者的家屬。

As a country, we have been through this too many times. Whether it’s an elementary school in Newtown, or a shopping mall in Oregon, or a temple in Wisconsin, or a movie theater in Aurora, or a street corner in Chicago -- these neighborhoods are our neighborhoods, and these children are our children. And we're going to have to come together and take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this, regardless of the politics.
我們國(guó)家已經(jīng)經(jīng)歷了太多這樣的悲劇。不管是在紐敦的一所小學(xué)，在俄勒岡州的一家購(gòu)物中心，在威斯康辛州的一座寺廟，在奧羅拉的一家電影院，還是在在芝加哥的一個(gè)街角——這些地區(qū)是我們的地區(qū)，這些孩子是我們的孩子。我們要團(tuán)結(jié)起來(lái)，采取切實(shí)行動(dòng)防止更多類似悲劇的發(fā)生，即便是采取政治策略。
This evening, Michelle and I will do what I know every parent in America will do, which is hug our children a little tighter and we’ll tell them that we love them, and we’ll remind each other how deeply we love one another. But there are families in Connecticut who cannot do that tonight. And they need all of us right now. In the hard days to come, that community needs us to be at our best as Americans. And I will do everything in my power as President to help.

Because while nothing can fill the space of a lost child or loved one, all of us can extend a hand to those in need -- to remind them that we are there for them, that we are praying for them, that the love they felt for those they lost endures not just in their memories but also in ours.
盡管沒有什么可以彌補(bǔ)失去孩子或愛人的傷口，但我們可以向那些需要的人伸出援助之手——提醒他們，我們和他們一起，為他們祈禱，他們對(duì)失去的親人之愛不僅藏在他們記憶里，還在我們每個(gè)人的心中。
May God bless the memory of the victims and, in the words of Scripture, heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds.
