71 Bravery Saves the Day
危機(jī)關(guān)頭勇者在
The injury disfigured the boss's face.
老板的臉因受傷而變丑了。
She felt like a disgraced woman.
她覺得很不光彩。
The way some people looked at her face with disgust seemed to dishearten her even more.
一些人用厭惡的目光看她的臉時似乎使她更加沮喪。
It was a dismal situation.
那情景很凄涼。
It all started last week after the boss dismissed an employee from his job.
事情是由上周老板解聘一名雇員引起的。
The employee had recklessly caused a huge explosion that disintegrated one of the machines in the factory.
這么雇員魯莽從事造成了一次大爆炸，炸毀了一臺機(jī)器。
The dismissal was clearly a fair and disinterested decision.
很明顯，老板解雇他是一個公正又無私的決定。
However, the decision disgruntled the employee.
然而，這個決定卻使這個雇員很不滿。
He was disinclined to accept it.
他不愿接受。
The day after his dismissal, the dissatisfied employee returned to the factory wearing disheveled clothes.
被解雇的第二天，這個心懷不滿的雇員衣冠不整地又回到了工廠。
He was swinging a large metal pipe and a sharp knife.
他手里揮動著一根大金屬管子和一把尖刀。
His disjointed speech indicated that he was drunk.

He seemed to be claiming that the telephone system with several blows.

Fear of injury disorganized the entire factory.

The dissatisfied employee descended the stairs to the boss's basement office.
這個憤憤不平的雇員走下樓梯來到地下室的辦公室。
With one swing of his pipe, he dislocated her jaw.
他掄起管子，一下就把老板的下巴打得脫臼了。
Fortunately, a courageous colleague came to her rescue.
幸運(yùn)的是，一個勇敢的同事跑來救他。
The brave colleague punched the attacker in the mouth.
這個勇士一記重拳打在雇員的嘴巴上。
The powerful punch dislodged the attacker's teeth and knocked him out.
雇員被打翻在地，連牙齒也被打掉了。
“You saved my life,” the boss uttered in pain.
“你救了我一命，”老板忍著痛對勇士說，
“For a moment, I though he might dismember me with his knife.”
“剛才，我在想他可能會用刀子把我大卸八塊吧。”
Today, the dissatisfied employee is in confinement.
現(xiàn)在那個心懷不滿的雇員被監(jiān)禁起來了。
The doctor told our boss not to be dismayed by her appearance because it will heal back to normal in a few months.
醫(yī)生告訴老板不要為她的外貌而沮喪，因為幾個月后會恢復(fù)正常的。
“My face doesn't look that bad, does it?” the boss asked me.
“我的臉看上去不那么難看了吧？”老板問我。
Not wanting to disillusion her, I replied, “It's looking better every day.”
我不想讓她的希望破滅，于是回答說：“看上去一天比一天好了。”
