【語法用法】
用在疑問句中時，常表示驚訝。
Are you back already?
你已經回來了嗎？
注意與all ready混淆。
He is already there.
他已在那了。
He is all ready there.
他在那完全準備好了。
【例句用法】
The teacher was already in the room when I arrived.
我到的時候，老師已經在屋里了。
You had already gone when I arrived there.
當我到達時，你已經走了。
I've been there already and don't want to go again.
我曾到過那，不想再去了。
二.bear:n.熊 v.忍受, 負荷, 結果, 證實, 生子女
【詞義辨析】
stand, bear, endure, tolerate, suffer, abide, withstand
這些動詞均含“忍受”之意。
stand口語用詞，常可與hear換用，但側重指經受得起。
bear強調容忍，是普通用語。
endure書面用詞，指長時間忍受痛苦和不幸，著重體力或意志力的堅強不屈服。
tolerate指以自我克制的態度，對待令人反感或厭惡的東西，含默認寬容意味。
suffer通常指非自愿或被迫忍受各種痛苦、困難或不快，強調受到苦難。
abide指忍受長期的痛苦或折磨，強調耐心和屈從。多用于否定句和疑問句中。
withstand指因具有一定實力、權力或能力而能忍受某種情況。
【例句用法】
These are matters that bear on the welfare of the community.
這些都是與社會福利有關的問題。
Her husband is such a bear that nobody likes him.
她丈夫很粗暴，沒人喜歡他。
三.against:prep.反對, 逆, 違背, 倚靠, 映襯, 防御, 相比,相對
【語法用法】
against用在fight，strive，struggle等詞后面，同with意思相同，不過against更強調一種困難中的反抗。
We fight for the weak against the strong.
作為介詞，against后接的賓語有時可省略。
He had intended to come but somehow decided against(it).
【例句用法】
We have saved some money against our old age.
我們存了一些錢，以備老年之用。
There are 26 votes for him and 8 against him.
有26票贊成他，8票反對他。
