【詞義辨析】
at last ，at length，eventually，finally，in the end，lastly
at last: 多指經主觀努力，克服各種困難后才終于達到目的。
at length: 強調經歷一段長時間后終于完成，側重在時間部分。
eventually: 側重于動作或行為的結果。
finally: 常與at last換用，都可用于對往事的描述，但finally不帶感情色彩，指一系列事情的最后結局。
in the end: 與at last同義，但in the end不僅可指“過去”還可表示對“未來”的預計。
lastly: 指連續順序的最后，通常用在列舉事情的場合。
【例句用法】
1.Finally the team from Argentina won the championship.
最后，這支來自阿根廷的隊伍奪得了冠軍。
2.The patient finally died from cancer.
那位病人最終死于癌癥。

【詞義辨析】
control direct govern manage rule supervise administer
control: 含義廣泛的常用詞，指對人或物施以約束或控制的力量。
direct: 側重行使領導或指導權。
govern: 側重指運用任何控制的權力來統治或管理一個國家、一個社會或一個部門，暗含能力和知識的運用。
manage: 強調對具體事務機構進行管理，有時含受權管理或處理之意。
rule: 強調用絕對或獨裁的權力來管理或統治。
supervise: 側重指運用本身的或被授予的權力來管理、檢查工作，含監督意味。
administer: 指官方的或正式的對事務的管理。
【詞語用法】
1.in control of ...表示“管理……”，under the control of ...表示“受……的管理”。注意前者不含the，后者含the。不過也可以表示為under one's control，不加the，如under government control；
2.control一般表示“控制，管理”沒有“檢查，檢測的意思”，注意與動詞examine, inspect和check的混淆；
3.control作名詞時，有“檢查點”的意思，如customs control（海關檢查）。

錯句：A man came into the compartment to control the tickets.
糾正：A man came into the compartment to check the tickets.
翻譯：一個男人走進車廂，去檢查車票。
分析：control作動詞時沒有“檢查，檢測”的意思。
