South Korean A-list actor Kim Soo-hyun made a tearful appearance at a press conference Monday, vehemently denying allegations that he dated actress Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor.

"I can't admit to something I didn't do," the 37-year-old star declared through tears, addressing the controversy that has rocked the Korean entertainment industry.

Kim Soo-hyun upset netizens by showing up perfectly dressed like a chaebol heir in an all-black suit and with his hair and makeup done (base, eyeshadow, eyeliner, lipstick, etc.). Even after he cried, the makeup held up, which was impressive.

The event, intended to mitigate reputational damage, instead drew accusations of narcissism and emotional insincerity, further tarnishing his public image.
