重新開始、重新啟動

1. Get back into something: 重啟停頓了一陣子的事情。

Into后面要用動名詞, 比如get back into studying, exercising。也可以不具體說明，用get back into things來指代。

I didn’t study at all during the break. I need to get back into it: 我放假的時候一點兒沒學習，得快點重新學起來。

I slacked off for a while. I really need to get back into exercising: 我偷懶了一陣子，現(xiàn)在真得重新開始鍛煉了。

After a break, it always takes some time and effort to get back into routine: 休息一段時間后，要重新進入規(guī)律總需要時間和努力。

2. Make a new start/start again/restart something: 重新開始、從頭再來。

I haven’t been to the gym for a few months. I need to make a new start: 我?guī)讉€月沒去健身房了，得重新開始（別忘了數(shù)量詞a) 。

Don’t give up even if you haven’t studied for a while. It’s never too late to start again: 即使你一段時間沒學，也別放棄。重新開始永遠不會太晚。

I didn’t have the right approach when I first tried to quit smoking. I need to restart: 我第一次戒煙的方法不對。我要重新再來。

3. Make yourself do something: 促使自己做一件事，通常指有難度、使你有畏難情緒、但對你有益的事。

I’m usually on my phone well past midnight. I really need to make myself sleep earlier: 我經(jīng)常看手機看到半夜12點多。我一定得讓自己早點睡。

I am not a morning person. I really need to make myself get up early: 我特別不習慣早起。我得逼自己早點起床。

I need to make myself more financially disciplined, not giving into every impulse whenever I see something I like: 我必須讓自己在經(jīng)濟上更自律，不能輕易沖動消費。

4. Force yourself to do something…: 逼自己做一件事，語氣比make youself do something更強硬。另外，搭配是force someone to do somthing，一定要用to連接。

I really need to force myself to read rather than watching short videos all the time: 我真要逼自己看書，不能一直看短視頻。

My kids hate eating vegetables. I often need to force them to eat veggies: 我孩子不愛吃蔬菜，我經(jīng)常要逼他們吃。

自律使我自由

最后，聚焦今天的關(guān)鍵詞：

Discipline: 紀律、嚴謹?shù)囊?guī)律。它既是動詞，又是名詞，還能變?yōu)樾稳菰~，disciplined。

Discipline作名詞:

Almost everything good takes discipline: 幾乎所有有益的事情都需要紀律。

Children need space and freedom, but they also need discipline: 孩子需要空間和自由，但他們也需要紀律和規(guī)矩。

Having discipline is key to learning a new skill, be it English or piano: 學習任何一門新技能都需要紀律，不管是英語還是鋼琴。

Discipline作動詞:

它會有懲罰、體罰的意思，但不一定，也可以指管教、立規(guī)矩。

Disciplining your child is more about being principled and firm with them, rather than being tough and harsh: 管教孩子更多是要有規(guī)矩、堅持原則，而不是態(tài)度粗暴

I have a huge sweet tooth. I really need to discipline myself when it comes to dessert: 我特別愛吃甜食。遇到甜的東西時，我必須好好管住自己的嘴。

Disciplined形容詞

Be disciplined: 自律的

Be more disciplined: 更自律

其實英語不一定要用self-disciplined, 因為當你說自己需要be more disciplined, 就已經(jīng)很清楚在表達是指你要更自律。不過也可以說 self-discipline和 self-disciplined，也都是正確的表達。

Discipline equals freedom: 自律使我自由。

Self-discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment: 自律是目標和現(xiàn)實間的橋梁。
