Neil: What have you been up to?
尼爾：你最近在忙什么呢？
Lewis: I've been preparing for TestDaF. It's a test of German as a foreign language.
路易斯：我在準備考德福，是一項德語語言考試。
Neil: Is it difficult?
尼爾：難嗎？
Lewis: It is for me. As a foreign language, German is known for its word length. Besides, I have only studied German for one year. That's why I'm currently taking courses at the Goethe Institute.
路易斯：對我來說挺難的。作為一門外語，德語一向都以它的詞語長度而著名。況且我學德語才學了一年。所以現在我在上歌德學院的課。
Neil: Do you have to pass the test to go to Germany?
尼爾：去德國必須要通過這項考試嗎？
Lewis: I wish I don't, but it's a requisite for application at German Universities.
路易斯：我真希望不是這樣，但對于申請德國的大學來說，德福是必需的。
Neil: Which German University are you applying to?
尼爾：你在申請德國的哪所大學？
Lewis: University of Hamburg and Berlin Institute of Technology. There are other options if I get rejected by those two, but I cross my heart and hope it will not come to that.
路易斯：漢堡大學和柏林工業大學。如果被這兩所拒絕的話，我再考慮其他選擇，但我衷心祈禱不會到那一步。
