Irene: Just the usual stuff. Wait, here is a short report about a festival called "the Water-Sprinkling Festival" of the Dai ethnicity.

Susan: I think I've heard that before. As I understand it, the more water you get, the happier you will be.

Irene: It says it's the water that is supposed to wash the Buddha first so becomes auspicious. It is a way of washing away the old year and ushering in a new one. The Festival became well-known after Premier Zhou participated in the event.
艾琳：報紙上說這些水是先用來禮佛的，所以是吉祥的水。人們以這種方式辭舊迎新。周總理曾參加過潑水節，后來潑水節就被很多人熟知了。
Irene: People do such intriguing ways to celebrate the new year.
