Chelsea: It says that the US is withdrawing its troops from Iraq.
切爾西：報道說美國準備從伊拉克撤軍。
Hill: I do hope it will return to peace and prosperity once left on its own rule.
希爾：我希望自治以后該地區能夠恢復和平，重新繁榮起來。
Chelsea: Me, too. Although today Iraq is ravaged by war and social unrest, in ancient time, the place was seat to the oldest human civilization, the Mesopotamia civilization.
切爾西：我也是。雖然現如今伊拉克飽受戰火和社會動蕩的摧殘，在古代，那里曾出現了最古老的人類文明——美索不達米亞文明。
Hill: Indeed. Mesopotamia has seen many prosperous days. It's the land of cuneiform, The Code of Hammurabi and the Hanging Garden.
希爾：沒錯。美索不達米亞曾經繁榮過很長時間，這塊土地上孕育了楔形文字，《漢謨拉比法典》和空中花園。
Chelsea: Owing to the Euphrates and the Tigris, Mesopotamia is ideally suited for agriculture and people there developed the first irrigation culture on the world. Everything else is built on that basis.
切爾西：得益于幼發拉底河和底格里斯河，美索不達米亞區域對農業十分有利，發展了世界上最早的灌溉文化。其他一切都以此為基礎。
Hill: I agree. Division of labor only begins when the crops are able to support a large population.
希爾：我同意。只有當農作物可以養活大量人口的時候，勞動分工才會出現。
