Sally: The three parallel story lines seem confusing at first, but as the story unfolds, it achieves an amazing effect.

Thomas: I just don't quite get what's the problem with the second woman. Is this supposed to be a lesbian film?

Sally: It touches on that, but I don't think that's the main point.

Thomas: The atmosphere is so depressing. I know it's supposed to be beautiful and artistic, but aren't they a little too sentimental?

Sally: It's about life and happiness...I don't know how to put it. Maybe its unique female sensibility.

Thomas: I think Nicole Kidman is fabulous. Apart from that, I really wish we've chosen another one.
