Promise of the Rainbow
彩虹的承諾
As Evan had predicted, the storm is over in less than half an hour.
正如艾凡所預測的，這場暴風雨不到半小時就結束了。
K:Oh, look, Evan! The sun is coming out again.
凱西:哦，艾凡，看！太陽又出來了。
E:Yeah. The more violent the storm, the shorter it lasts.
艾凡:嗯。暴風雨愈猛烈，持續的時間也愈短。
It can rain for days without much wind or driving rain, but this kind of violent storm doesn't usually last more than an hour.
老天可以沒有狂風暴雨而連續下雨好幾天，但是像這種猛烈的暴風雨通常不會超過一小時。
K:You were right on this one. Thank God that's over!
凱西:這次你說對了。感謝上帝，暴風雨結束了。
I was really scared for a minute there.
有那么一下子我真嚇壞了。
E:More like 20 minutes.
艾凡:好象有二十分鐘之久吧。
K:All right!
凱西:就算是吧！
E:Just kidding. I was scared, too, for a while. But I knew we'd be all right.
艾凡:只是開個玩笑。有一陣子，我也很害怕。但是我知道我們會沒事的。
K:Oh, look, Evan! There's a rainbow!
凱西:哦，艾凡，看！有一道彩虹！
E:Remember the story from the Bible about the rainbow?
艾凡:記得圣經里那則關于彩虹的故事嗎？
After the great flood that destroyed the world, God made the rainbow as a promise to Noah that He would never flood the world again.
在那場毀滅全世界的大洪水后，上帝創造出一道彩虹當作對諾亞的承諾說衪將不會再淹沒全世界。
K:Yes, I remember. It's a beautiful story.
凱西:是的，我記得。那是一則美麗的故事。
E:And a beautiful rainbow. Come on, Kathy. Let's get back to the car and change our soaked clothes.
艾凡:還有美麗的彩虹。凱西，快點。咱們回車上去換掉這身濕衣服吧。
