Mean business 玩真的
Mean business 是表示“當真、玩真的”，沒有兒戲的成份在內，一心一意地去達成某件事，未必和“生意”business有關：
A：I still can't believe Mary got into college. 我還是不敢相信瑪莉考上大學了。
B：Well, she meant business this time. 恩，她這次是玩真的。
Mean business 也可以表示為了某種目的而來：
A：Why are the police outside? 警察怎么會在這里？
B：They mean business. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have come here.
他們來辦事。要不然他們不會來的。
