二、翻譯技巧

1.增詞

Those indeed push our envelope, tap our emotions for adventure, success and joy or our admiration for creating something special that apprehends movies as unique and transient.
那些電影的確促使我們去創新，激發我們對探險、成功和喜悅的熱情，或是激起我們對創造一種把電影當成獨特且短暫的特殊藝術形式的渴望之情。（重復、增詞）

Tonight we’ve taken a wonderful journey inside ourselves as we identified people, stories and dreams created by others.
今晚，在我們公布入選的由他人創造的電影人物、故事及夢想之時，我們的內心世界經歷了一次美妙的旅行。


2.詞性轉換

Suddenly with the advent of sound came the explosion of the art of screen writing.
突然，隨著有聲電影的到來，編劇者們藝術也火爆起來。

名詞轉化為形容詞

Thus far we’ve travelled from silence to the spoken world, from the confines of a small apartment to vastest expense of space.
至此，我們已從無聲的世界走向了有聲，從禁閉的狹小空間走向了最為遼闊的宇宙空間。

3.拆分、重組

They can show us the society is not black and white, but truly more gray, complex / and ultimately satisfying when one takes a risk.
電影可以告訴我們社會不盡是黑白分明，而更多的是復雜的灰色，/ 但只要敢于冒險，結局是會令人欣慰的。（原文中”ultimately”在譯文中副詞轉化為名詞作主語）

4.省略

They provide us with our tickets to dreams.
電影使我們可以夢想。

5.引申

To many of us movies are personal time capsule made up of hopes, dreams, fantasies and fears.
對我們許多人來說，電影就是我們各自的希望、夢想、幻想乃至恐懼的時光隧道。

6.說明、解釋

As the proud guardian of our nation’s film heritage, AFI is indebted to all the writers, directors, musicians, actors, studios, music companies who through cooperative effort make it possible.
身為我國電影遺產自豪的守護者，電影學院承蒙所有編劇、導演、音樂家、演員、支邊公司和音樂公司的鼎力合作才得以成立。（譯文把原文所代表的意思通過說明、解釋的方式表達出來。）
