So first,a little about the history of the RSPoA.This is a British charity that was established over 80 years ago.
首先簡單介紹意外防制協(xié)會的歷史背景。這是一個英國的慈善機構(gòu)，成立超過80 年。
It provides information and training on safety in all areas of life-at work,in the home,on the roads,at leisure time,in schools,and on or near water.
協(xié)會提供生活各方面的安全咨詢和訓(xùn)練—包括工作、家庭、道路、休閑、學(xué)校、水上及水濱活動等各方面。
It also provides information on dangerous or badly designed products that may cause accidents.
同時對于設(shè)計不良或可能造成意外的危險商品，協(xié)會也會提供相關(guān)咨詢。
Accidents in the UK,although often not serious,are still very common and cost the country huge amounts in lost time and money.
英國的意外事件雖然通常并不嚴(yán)重，但是仍然十分常見，而且造成了國家金錢與時間的巨大損失。
Last year,for example,there were nearly 29 million working days lost due to accidents and ill health,and more seriously,about 350 deaths because of accidents at work.
以去年為例，由于意外和生病，造成了將近2 千9 百萬個工作天的損失，更嚴(yán)重的是，由于工作中發(fā)生的意外，導(dǎo)致約350 人死亡。
In addition,because of accidents in the home,over 4,000 people died and nearly three million had to go to A&E departments in hospitals.
除此之外，在家庭中發(fā)生的意外事件，造成的死亡人數(shù)超過4 千人，還有將近3 百萬人必須送醫(yī)急救。
