Tell me about an environment problem that is facing your country.
You should say:
what the problem is
how it arose
how it influences life in your country
and explain how this problem could be solved.
Candidate 1: Recently there is an environmental problem in our country. The river through the city becomes so dirty that it turns dark and smells bad. Many years ago, its water is so pure, and we even drink it when we are thirsty, but now it is polluted with garbage and dangerous chemicals which are let off by some chemical factories built in recent years. Ships contribute to the problem because they rely on rivers for disposing of wastes. Oil and other chemicals can kill fish and make water unsafe for drinking. In a word, polluted water is a big problem to everyone.
As we know, people depend on water to live on. We should be involved in finding a solution to this problem. I think certain measures need to be taken as soon as possible. To begin with, the governments are supposed to formulate rules and regulations to deal with the pollution problem. In addition, factories in the city must be prohibited from draining waste liquids into rivers before they are totally treated and purified.
As far as future prospect is concerned, I am sure that good results will be achieved in this respect. Rivers which used to be contaminated by industrial wastes will be cleaned and fish which could not live there a few years ago will be alive again. To conclude, it seems obvious that tomorrow will be better and brighter only if everyone does his part and tries hard to seek solutions for its control.
Candidate 2: One of the environmental problems that we found is deforesting.
Huge amounts of trees have been cut down in order to provide food for the world's growing population. This is the biggest reason why mankind cut down the trees.
But we don't know the trees are very important to the ecosystem. The loss of trees upsets the ecosystem as trees are necessary to build topsoil, maintain rainfall in dry climates, purify underground water and convert CO2 to O2. Trees bring water up from the ground, allowing water to evaporate into the atmosphere. The evaporate water then returns as rain, which is vital to areas that are naturally dry. Trees can also obstruct the wind. Unfortunately, as trees have been cut down, the wind has blown away the soil, leaving the land barren. The earth is left with fewer plants to breathe in the CO2. So global warming is coming.
Therefore, we need to plant more trees while avoiding deforesting. The more trees, the better.
