4. Do you think the traffic problem will get better or worse in the future?
在現代城市規劃中，城市交通問題諸如擁堵、停車難等現象一直以來都是交通規劃的難題和重點。緩解交通的方法是多方面的。首先，要加強科技投入，使那些公共的交通工具得到最大限度地利用，以減少私人車的“泛濫”，使交通便利。其次，在車流高峰的交通要道上建天橋，緩解擁擠問題。最后，就是人們應遵守交通規則，使“車”“人”都暢通無阻。那么交通問題在未來是否能夠徹底解決？我國的交通狀況能否完全改善？這些都是未知數，來看看我們考生是怎么回答。

Candidate 1: Well, I'm not sure, but I have a feeling it will get better. It may be that the problem with get worse before it gets any better, but I think there will be a time when something is actually done to tackle the problem. My feeling is that part of the problem will be solved when we actually start to regulate the number os cars on the roads. I also think that once the subway system is improved and can carry people to places they weren't able to go, then the situation will get a bit better.

Candidate 2: In my opinion, the traffic problem will get better in the future with our efforts. Nowadays, traffic problem is a serious matter in the world, but the problem has been significantly improved in recent years. All over the country is being carried out a wide range of traffic safety education to enhance driver's safety awareness. A growing number of subways and railways have been built up in cities and also in countries. With China's economic development, the road system is constantly improving and people's awareness towards safety driving has been increased.

From the improvement of traffic conditions in big cities like Beijing, we believe that through our efforts the traffic problem will get better in the future.

這道題目的回答和上述題目一樣，沒有唯一的答案，我們的道路雖然曲折的，但前途是光明的，只要大家齊心協力就一定能改善交通。Candidate 1的回答一開頭明確指出自己的不確信，但坦言自己感覺得到改善。回答還是比較嚴謹的。交通的改善是需要一定時間和周期的，可能會反復，但前景是美好的。最后指出地鐵在改善交通方面起到的舉足輕重的作用；Candidate 2比較樂觀，隨著駕車安全意識的提高，越來越多的地鐵和高速公路的修建，道路系統的改善，通過大家的一致努力，交通問題最終還是可以解決的，北京的交通有了很大的改善就是個很好的例子。

5. What do you think of the Olympic Games? Are they necessary for the world?

2008奧運會的成功舉辦生動體現了中國日益增長的綜合國力，向世界說明了中國人是名副其實地凡事說到做到的，向世界展示中國繁榮富強、人民團結友愛的國家形象，有利于提高中國的國際威望。但是有些人卻持否定的觀點，認為中國舉辦奧運會勞民傷財，認為大家對待奧運會應該趨于理性。讓我們還是看看考生的觀點。

Candidate 1: I don't think I like the Olympics. As far as I'm concerned, they are a waste of time and money. There are just too much nationlism and pressure on the athletes. For example in the last Winter Olympics, there were some countries threatened to boycott them or pulled out for all kinds of reasons, and there were some unethical judging going on. I also think that they have become too commercialized and that they've been taken over by big companies.

Candidate 2: The Olympic Games is a huge international sports event, which is held every four years and attended by nearly all countries. The Olympic Games is thought as the most authoritative competition on sport. It is holy and significant, which is a valuable product of human beings.

Through Olympic Games cities all over the world can know more about each other; human beings can become stronger and healthier; we can spread the Olympics spirit to every place where it is needed. All in all, Olympic Games let human beings become much stronger and the world be more peaceful.
