Well, you know in many countries people point with their first finger.

However, in Brunei that can cause offence, so we use our thumb to point.

It's quite funny watching the new foreign teachers trying to adjust to doing that.

Another thing is, if you came to Brunei, you would have to take off your shoes before going into someone's house.

Many foreigners have trouble getting accustomed to it.

But what is really interesting is that there are sometimes great cultural differences even between native English speakers.
