M: Hello, Nancy, I know you are one of a few female taxi drivers in the city and you drive for a living. What made you want to be a taxi driver in the first place?
男：你好，南希，我知道你是這座城市里為數不多的女出租司機之一。當初你為什么選擇這一行業？
W: I took pride in driving well, even when I was young. I have to wait until I have a car to learn to drive. When I finally learned, it was something I really enjoyed and still enjoy. I remembered those taxi drivers dressed so neatly in their uniforms. I thought I'd like to do that myself.
女：在我很小的時候就以開車技術好為榮。但我得等自己有輛車之后才能開始學駕駛。學會駕駛之后,我很喜歡并享受這種感覺。那些穿著整齊制服的出租車司機讓我記憶猶新。我也想做這樣的工作。
M: What's the best part of your job?
男：你覺得這份工作最棒的地方是？
W: I soon found that what I like best about the job was being outdoors, seeing this city changes from season to season. And there are places of scene I would probably never have seen in another job. And I love all kinds of weather. I like to leave the window down in a fine rain, and when I have a long drive, maybe at the end of the day, I sometimes go pass my home to tell my two little children I'll be home soon, when they always want to come along in my car.
女：我最喜歡這份工作的一點是可以在戶外看到季節交替時這座城市的變化。這些景色在其他的工作崗位是很難看到的。我喜歡各種各樣的天氣。細雨紛飛時我會搖下車窗，或者一天的忙碌將要結束時，我會開車路過家門口告訴我那兩個一直想上車玩的孩子說我很快就回家。
M: Do they? I guess kids all like to be taken for a ride sometimes.
男：是嗎？有時候孩子們都喜歡乘車兜兜風。
W: Yes, but you cannot take any all along. So I've to pay their fares one of these days, and take them out in my taxi, because I really think it is fun out into the countryside on the long drive, with the fresh air and sun shining. You just seem to want to drive forever. At least that is how it's for me.
女：是啊，可是你不能這么做。過幾天我打算自掏腰包開車帶著孩子們出去玩，因為開車去遙遠的鄉村里呼吸一下新鮮的空氣，感受一下和煦的陽光是一件很有趣的事情。你會想要一直這么開下去。至少，我覺得是這樣。
