Donald Trump has repeated his threat to impose sweeping taxes on imports from other countries, saying that America's allies are often worse than its enemies on trade.

India is the first country to be speaking with President Trump since he announced those reciprocal tariffs and India in the past has been labelled by Mr. Trump as being one of the biggest abusers when it comes to trade and say India has some of the highest tariffs when it comes to trade barriers.
